Construction & Projects Solicitor / Lawyer 2+PQE

Our client is a leading UK law firm with a thriving construction and projects team who are based in Cardiff.  The firm’s strategy includes expansion of the construction practice in both Wales and the South East.  With a mix of non-contentious and contentious experience we act for all parts of the construction industry, with some notable large project experience and a mix of public and private sector clients.

The new position:

The relevant Lawyer will assist in growing our construction practice in England and Wales.  They are looking for someone with construction law expertise who may have specialised non-contentious and/or contentious experience or may have a non-contentious construction or projects/procurement background.  Candidates with experience in one area are encouraged to apply.

The role will involve:-

•Helping to develop our construction, procurement and projects practice in Wales and England.  Candidates must be keen to participate in marketing and business development.

•Dealing with construction related disputes.

•Advising on all forms of construction procurement – the role will require (but it may be developed after joining us) a working knowledge of the common standard construction forms of contract

•Being part of a team undertaking larger projects involving the provision and maintenance of assets such as PFI/PPP projects or joint venture developments.

•Supporting, with construction and development advice, commercial property transactions, including advising banks on funding development projects.

•Helping with general commercial contracts such as services agreements and consultants’ appointments.
