Construction Partner - Non-Contentious - No Following Required

A renowned, award winning renowned Legal 500 listed full-service national law firm is continuing to strengthen its Birmingham city centre offering and so is now eager to appoint a Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor at Partner level. Somewhat significantly, on this occasion neither a following or even a part-following is a pre-requisite for this appointment.

This firm offers the full spectrum of legal services within the commercial, public, health, education and insurance sectors and has an envied reputation as being at the forefront of these areas. With a headcount in excess of 500 and with offices based in legal hubs throughout the country, a significant number of this firms' lawyers are highly ranked in both Chambers and the Legal 500, acting for notable clients on matters that often receive public attention.

The Construction Team here comprises 12 members nationally inclusive of 4 partners and is proud to have earned an envied reputation. The team boasts a prestigious client list and is regularly instructed by some of the most highly regarded developers and contractors on both national and international matters in addition to acting on behalf of a host of private and public sector clients. The team acts across a broad portfolio of sectors including infrastructure and energy, retail, education, transport and health on technically challenging and complex matters, often with a multi-jurisdictional element.

As a consequence of on-going growth and continuing success, as well as having one eye on succession planning, the firm now wishes to appoint an additional Non-Contentious Construction Partner to the team. Where this opportunity is fairly unique is that there is no requirement for a following, or part following as long as you are able to demonstrate that you are very well connected within the sector and that you will be able to generate a client base, which the firm will very much support you in doing this. Notwithstanding this, there is still work to service from the outset, so you will inherit an existing client base to begin with which you will be able to build your practice around.

Exceptional technical skills and first-rate communication abilities are a pre-requisite for the role and it goes without saying that you will have strong academics. You will be commercially astute, self-motivated and be determined to provide the very best client service whilst also being able to demonstrate an exceptional level of commercial awareness when dealing with all aspects of non-contentious building, engineering and construction matters. Strong business development, networking and marketing skills will be an advantage although the firm will support you in further enhancing these skills to allow you to reach your potential.

This is the perfect opportunity for a partner who is keen to secure a fresh challenge and join a practice that can offer a different and innovative way of working. Equally, the firm is keen to hear from Senior Associates who have worked at high calibre firms and are keen on taking the step up to partner level by demonstrating their technical expertise and their appetite for business development. Either way, this role will provide you with the freedom and autonomy to grow your practice area and really make your mark on the sector.

The remuneration package on offer is excellent and the firm is regularly recognised by a number of bodies as being one of the best practices to work for given its' strong reputation for providing one of the most open, supportive and collaborative environments around. The practice is also able to offer some flexibility with the working pattern given the various agile working initiatives that are currently in operation.

Opportunities to join such a high calibre practice at partner level without a following are a somewhat of rarity so for more information on this Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor/Partner opportunity please contact Matt Robinson at QED Legal.
