Clinical Negligence Claims Managers
Based in Leeds
Permanent
Circa £55,000 (Negotiable)

We have a requirement for 4 experienced Solicitors to join our Claims Management team in Leeds.

  • 3 roles will be to manage a caseload with medical and dental claims valued up to £750,000
  • 1 role will be to manage a caseload with medical claims valued  in excess of £750,000

As a Claims Manager you will manage a caseload of pre-action and litigated claims, the latter with the support of our in-house Litigation Team or Panel firms. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, including in-house doctors and dentists, claims assistants and support staff. You will work closely with our members, advising and guiding them through the claims process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To advise on complex issues of breach of duty and causation based on detailed analysis of clinical records, factual and expert evidence.
  • To apply sound judgement and good commercial sense to achieve cost effective and efficient resolution of claims.
  • To protect and act in the best interests of our members at all times.
  • Keep up to date with relevant professional knowledge

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Extensive claims management and/or litigation experience with a good background in clinical negligence
  • The ability to critically determine the cost effective nature and extent of any investigation required and to competently set and implement case strategy through to resolution
  • IT literate with practical experience of using IT as an analytical and case management tool
  • Managing high value clinical negligence claims (desired for the first 3 roles and required for the 4th)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Articulate and persuasive
  • Ability to resolve conflict in an effective and professional manner
  • Strong commitment to a collaborative working environment
