Locum Contracts & Procurement Solicitor

Venn Group's specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a Commercial Contracts Locum to join a Local Authority based in East Anglia. This contract is offered for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension and the flexibility of homeworking for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will be a Solicitor or Legal Executive with previous experience specialising in Commercial Contract Law, ideally from a Local Authority background. You will be expected to have current knowledge on contract and procurement law alongside the ability to advise and draft a variety of contracts as required.

Duties may include:

• Drafting goods, services and works contracts
• Preparing JCT construction contracts
• Drafting framework agreements and call-off contracts
• Providing legal support on a range of contract matters to internal clients, dealing with external lawyers and other professionals
• Sharing information and working positively with other team members and officers, attending team and client meetings
• On occasion, training less experienced officers
• Efficiently manage workload using an electronic case management system (including time recording) to deliver and evidence outcomes to timescale and within budget

Candidates will be considered on both a full-time and part-time basis for the position, and an hourly rate of £35 - £40 dependent on experience is offered. The right candidate will have the flexibility of Homeworking after an initial period.
