THE ROLE

Our client handles varied and high-quality work, dealing with all values of transactions including substantial transactions, as part of a mix of work which includes: -

• portfolio acquisitions and disposals;
• the acquisition of sites for commercial, industrial, residential and mixed-use development;
• the grant, renewal and termination of leases and related matters; and
• joint venture agreements, conditional sale and purchase contracts.

Some understanding of procurement models and EU Regulated procurement would also be beneficial.

In addition, candidates will have strong experience in non-contentious construction work which will include familiarity with drafting negotiating and analysing the usual construction documents (building contracts, appointments and collateral warranties and similar) and general development agreements and will have worked directly with clients on all aspects of construction projects.

Some experience of assisting with contentious construction work will be useful but not essential.

Ability and desire to be involved in business development and to take a lead in building up the construction work will be core requirements.

THE CANDIDATE

You will have strong academics and with 1-5pqe will have a clear understanding of domestic UK construction and have lots of experience of dealing with:-

• JCT contracts
• professional appointments
