Based in Leeds

Permanent
MPS is the world’s leading protection organisation for doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals. We protect and support the professional interests of more than 300,000 members around the world. Our benefits include access to indemnity, expert advice and peace of mind. Our in-house experts assist with the wide range of legal and ethical problems that arise from professional practice. This includes clinical negligence claims, complaints, medical and dental council inquiries, legal and ethical dilemmas, disciplinary procedures, inquests and fatal accident inquiries.
We are currently recruiting for experienced Clinical Negligence solicitors to work as part of our Regional and International team. The team is based in London; however, we are now expanding to recruit for positions based in Leeds.
The purpose of this role is to directly manage a caseload of clinical negligence claims predominantly in Asia and the Caribbean.
The Claims Manager will work as part of a collaborative team including in-house doctors, dentists, solicitors, claims assistants and support staff.
Candidates will be expected to adopt a strategic approach to claims resolution with the overall aim of reducing the cost of claims through clear analysis and action whilst providing outstanding levels of service to our members and robustly defending the defensible. You will need to demonstrate the ability to implement a robust claim strategy and manage this through to resolution, whilst also understanding the key importance of accurate claims estimates and data. Defendant experience would be advantageous but we will consider a claimant background.
You must also have strong interpersonal skills demonstrated in a high performance environment, excellent analytical ability, good negotiation skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in the face of challenge.
The salary range for this role is competitive dependent on experience. Benefits include 30 days paid holiday in addition to public holidays, private medical insurance, a health care cash plan and an annual bonus scheme.
