Head of Legal Services, The Scouts  

We are looking for a Head of Legal Services to join our team at Gilwell Park, Chingford, London E4. You will receive a competitive salary of up to £70,000 per annum (plus excellent benefits). About the role
As Head of Legal Services you will manage the in-house legal team for The Scout Association. The team provides legal advice on a wide range of issues to the Senior Leadership Team, internal departments and committees and subsidiary companies.

Your duties will include the below -
Providing general legal advice to Members of the Association on a host of issues affectingScouting.

Acting as either a qualified Solicitor or Barrister and Company Secretary to The Scout Association Trust Corporation (holding title to approx. 5000 properties).
Developing The Scout Association’s governance arrangements.
Supporting The Scout Association’s Data Protection Officer.

What we are looking for in our Head of Legal:
We are looking for a lawyer who possesses excellent leadership skills and has a proven track record in managing and leading legal teams. You will be a dynamic, self-motivated legal strategist who will support and develop the legal team and provide an effective service to the Scouts’ UK Headquarters, its internal departments, subsidiary companies and general advice to members or scout units of the Movement.

You will have a commercial background, with demonstrable experience managing change. Experience within the voluntary sector is helpful, though not essential.
