Senior Solicitor

We are working with a public body to appoint a senior solicitor. The senior solicitor is responsible for deputising for the head of legal, managing, leading and motivating junior lawyers, and participating in general leadership activity.

The ideal candidate will have at least six years’ PQE to include experience in property, contracts, and/or public law. We would also welcome applications from candidates who are generalist in-house solicitors.

The legal team provides comprehensive legal advice, advising on the whole spectrum of legal issues relating to the department’s legal and business affairs, including its commercial and property interests, administrative law, compliance and risk in order to protect its investments and support decision making.

The post holder will be expected to lead on complex contractual negotiations and draft agreements including supplier contracts and funding agreements, as well as being responsible for the organisations property portfolio. The role also includes line-management responsibilities.
