Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want more flexibility without compromising on the quality and variety of the work you undertake? Then these opportunities to join Sheffield City Council’s forward thinking, Lexcel Accredited Legal Service may be just what you have been looking for.

We are looking for a practically minded, solution based Lawyer to join our Planning and Highways team. You will have good working knowledge of planning law in a local government context with specific reference to s106 Agreements, CIL, attending planning committee and advising where necessary on reports. Experience of CPO and bringing forward a Local Plan would be an advantage but is not essential.

The available post is a full-time, 12 month vacancy. However, we open to applications from anyone seeking to work 22 hours or more per week and we are flexible about working pattern. For further information or to discuss suitability on an informal basis, please contact David Sellars on 0114 273 4059.

All applicants must be organised and able to work to deadlines under pressure. They must be able to work with minimal supervision, but still be able to contribute to the wider team. Applicants must have strong communication skills and a passion for providing a good service to clients. The post is open to qualified solicitors, barristers and Fellows of ILEX.

In return for your skills, knowledge and commitment you can expect a rewarding career in the UK's greenest city, within an organisation that recognises the importance of work/life balance and that offers a range of attractive benefits and a friendly and supportive work environment.

We are committed to fairness and social justice and welcome applications from everyone. We value our diverse workforce and aim to work together to make the most of our differences. Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.

Please see the council website at www.sheffield.gov.uk to apply Closing date 7th November 2018
