Senior Solicitor

Band G   £40,858 to £50,575 per annum.  Incremental progression is subject to performance.

25 hours per week (Full Time Considered)

We are looking to recruit a Senior Solicitor within the Legal Services Department to provide a wide variety of planning legal policy and procedural work on behalf of the Council, Partners and Clients.

As Senior Solicitor, you will bring your extensive legal knowledge to the team and have the opportunity to be involved in some particularly high profile and interesting projects

You will:

•           Provide advice and represent the Council’s planning functions in areas of Development Control and Planning Enforcement. 

•           Attend planning appeals and public enquiries as required

•           Attend Planning Committee meetings to give advice to members and officers

•           Work on a number of projects relating to Town and Country Planning matters.

You will have:

•           A Solicitor/ Barrister qualification with a current practising certificate

•           A sound working knowledge of planning law

•           Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

•           Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to achieve deadlines and work to a high degree of accuracy.
