The Legal Services Team provides an efficient high-quality legal service to colleagues at all levels across the University. The University is seeking to appoint a Commercial Solicitor with particular experience in Intellectual Property Law within a research environment to work within its Governance and Legal Services Department based at its City Centre campus.

You will need to be a qualified solicitor who is PQE 3-5 years qualified and be familiar with and have experience of negotiating and drafting complex commercial, research and intellectual property related contracts.

You will be able to work on your own initiative, produce high quality work to tight deadlines to all colleagues across the University on a range of complex and high profile commercial-related matters and projects. You will need excellent organisational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task whilst remaining focussed and calm under pressure. You will be self-motivated with a flexible approach to working on your own and as part of a small team.

The role involves frequent interaction with senior staff within and outside the University, which requires excellent interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy and a very high standard of written and oral communication.
