Employment Lawyer –This is a great opportunity for an Employment Lawyer who may be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Legal Executive or Fee Earner to join a national Employment team working in Central Leeds.

The Employment Lawyer will support the existing Employment team with non-contentious work, run a case load of legal expense insurer files and supervise junior case handlers.

Previous Employment law experience is essential. The successful Employment Lawyer will have a passion for employment law and at least one year’s qualified Employment experience, However, Employment lawyers, fee earners or paralegals would be considered with significant Employment experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:
·Advising Respondent and Claimant clients on Employment Tribunal claims;
·Running a case load of Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings, drafting witness statements, negotiating settlements, conducting advocacy at Preliminary Hearings and instructing counsel as necessary;
·Complying with insurer service level agreements;
·Supporting the employment team with non-contentious work, including providing telephone advice to employer clients as well as drafting and reviewing contracts and policies;
·Participating in marketing the Company, including writing employment law updates and delivering training to clients;
·Ensuring accurate advice is given to clients;
·Supervision of junior case handlers;
·Using our case management system to progress files;
·Billing and invoicing.

Skills/Competencies required:
Essential:
·Previous Employment law experience at Solicitor level or equivalent;
·Good employment law knowledge with the ability to research unfamiliar topics;
·Excellent attention to detail;
·Effective time management skills;
·Excellent communication skills (able to build good relations with colleagues, clients, other side solicitors etc);
·The ability to work as part of a team;
·The ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines;
·An organised approach to work;
·A positive attitude;
·The ability to run a caseload;
·Candidates must be a fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FCILEx or with equivalent experience.

Salary to £43,000 + Bonus, HealthCare and Contributory Pension
