Due to an internal service redesign, we are now looking to recruit a locum Child Care Solicitor to work with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council on a temporary, on-going basis. Sandwell Council is the largest employer in the borough that help provide a comprehensive range of services across its six towns. They are committed to the provision of high quality services across the borough.

Your new role

As an experienced locum Solicitor, you will be working within the Legal Services Team working on all matter of Childcare Law for the council. This will involve a high degree of advocacy work including contested hearings with a varied workload within the wider team. You will also be required to oversee case proceedings involving some potentially high profile cases, supervision orders, interim care orders and emergency protection orders.

What you'll need to succeed

As a qualified Solicitor, it would be highly beneficial if you had experience of working within Children's Services, however, any qualified Solicitor background would be welcome if you were willing to train in the role. This role would be a great opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable experience in a varied area of law.
