Residential/Commercial Conveyancer

A Rescidential/Commercial Conveyancer is sought by a High Profile Law Firm based in Central Manchester. They are offering a competitive salary and benefits package, negotiable dependent on experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm who are well known in the market, and whose teams are Legal 500 ranked in the North West for the quality of their work. They have ambitious growth plans for their Manchester base, which forms part of a wider National network of offices

You would be managing your own caseload with supervision utilising your residential conveyancing experience across a range of transactions predominantly acting for a commercial client whodeals in properties in the supported living sector, and also providing support to our plot conveyancing and residential acquisitions team which acts for specific key clients.


You would be working in their property department managing your own caseload utilising your residential conveyancing experience across a range of transactions, but with particular emphasis on transactions for housing association clients.

Responsibilities;

To specifically provide support to one solicitor within a busy team assisting with all aspects of
acquisitions and disposals of properties to be used for supported living, acting for a key client of the
firm
 Assist on plot conveyancing and residential acquisitions for other specific key clients
 Providing advice on time and to a high standard of technical competence in a broad range of
supported living property and general residential property matters
 Run your own caseload with supervision
 Achieving budgeted hours and fees for the year as a minimum
 Dealing with clients in person and on the telephone
 Preparation of transaction documentation e.g. contracts, transfers and completion statements Land Registry and stamp duty land tax documentation
 Carrying out title due diligence and resolving defects in title
 Preparation of legal correspondence
 Exchanges and completions

Technical Skills

 Good legal drafting skills: able to provide clear, concise and commercially relevant solutions, explaining/advising clients succinctly on difficult and complex areas whilst winning their confidence and being aware of potential conflicts
 Residential conveyancing experience and record of managing own caseload with supervision is essential
 Good knowledge of residential landlord and tenant law
 Keen to maintain personal development and take advantage of training opportunities; keeping up to
date with legal issues, law reports and journals together with legal developments and government
policy within relevant sectors
 Strong IT and keyboard skills, at ease with digital dictation, electronic time recording and document
management systems, confident with Excel at a basic to intermediate level including the ability to
write simple formulas and using cell formatting
 An effective communicator and negotiator able to establish and maintain harmonious and
professional relationships with clients and colleagues

9-5 Monday - Friday
Option to work from home 1 day per week
