Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive (Prosecutions) – Post Ref: CE144

Salary: PO1 - 10, up to £38,052 per annum (starting point dependent on experience)

37 hours per week, permanent contract, based in central Halifax, West Yorkshire

We are seeking to recruit an experienced prosecutor to our busy Education and Litigation Team in Legal Services.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of conducting litigation matters.  The main focus is upon prosecutions for the various Council departments; Licensing, Environmental Health, Planning, Revenue & Benefits etc.

You will be confident in handling complex cases, conducting advocacy and managing a busy caseload of court proceedings and advice matters. You will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic and work effectively as part of a close-knit team. 

Local authority experience is not essential but a sound grounding in criminal law and procedures and experience of prosecutions is essential. Some knowledge of licensing law is desirable.
