We're currently working with an international plc that has significant presence in the US. The In-House team is looking to appoint a commercial lawyer who has a genuine and demonstrable desire to work in Industry, to join them in their offices in North Yorkshire.

The environment is unique in the area and offers a rich variety of interesting, challenging and in some cases pioneering work. As a commercial lawyer you will very much be positioned within the very heart of the business and the legal function is integral to the whole operation. This is certainly not a back office department and therefore you'll need to be a qualified commercial lawyer who can work autonomously and a commercially minded pragmatist, who is likely thrive in an environment where the relationship between the legal and commercial issues are entwined.

The role will involve dealing with an array of contracts covering; procurement, logistics/supply chain, supply, distribution etc however you'll be working with the Board and key stakeholders advising on providing legal support during the commercial tendering and negotiation phases to ensure implementation of relevant risk management policies.

You'll be expected to take a lead on a selection of projects, providing valid and commercial legal advice and viable solutions, reporting back to the GC, Head of Legal and the Board.

Some experience in non-contentious company commercial lawyer is highly desirable and we'd anticipate this person having around 2 years PQE, although we are equally interested in hearing from candidates with a projects and construction background. Your commercial attitude and aptitude, a strong work ethic and desire to be the best you can be however, is essential.
