CHARITIES LAWYER YORKSHIRE 2+PQE

An excellent opportunity has opened up for a transactional corporate specialist or non-contentious commercial lawyer to join this leading Charities team, which acts for a broad range of clients across the UK though this role can be based in at any of the firms offices in Yorkshire. This firm have a built up a fantastic reputation for their work and they advise a wide range of charitable organisations including religious orders, housing associations, professional societies, independent schools, academies and social enterprises on all aspects of their legal requirements. They appreciate the challenge of finding lawyers with Charities backgrounds and so are quite prepared to consider re-training someone from an appropriate skills background and who has the right enthusiasm to move into this sector and an interesting and rewarding alternative to acting for mainstream commercial clients.

The crux of the work is incorporations and registrations of new charities, mergers and restructurings, constitutional issues and governance, tax, trading, fund raising and regulatory advice, and so generic experience gained with a good commercial law firm is a sufficient platform from which to make this step if you have the right attitude and interest in working for non-profit clients whose considerations are slightly different but whom still need expert advice from trusted advisors. Any experience of acting for charities or voluntary work will be advantageous but is not essential.

Suitable applicants will have 2+yrsPQE so as to best fit into the structure of this team, though all applicants will be considered on their merits. Competitive salary and benefits package for the right individual to reflect the standing of this regional brand.

Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
