Job Details
Head of Law and Governance (Monitoring Officer)
Salary - £58,000 to £64,000
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and with a sound understanding of the Monitoring Officer remit, this critical role plays a key link with Elected members. An excellent strategic leader, you will inform and guide council policy, strengthen our governance culture and motivate your team to deliver services to the highest standard. With a broad remit to ensure the delivery of unrivalled electoral and democratic services to residents and elected members and support for our risk assurance processes, your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to work confidently in partnership with the shared legal service hosted by Ashfield District Council.
An influential leader and an experienced Solicitor, you will have the drive to build outstanding and proactive services across the full remit of the Councils legal responsibilities and to ensure that the governance of how decisions are made my Council officers underpin the effective and complaint delivery of services.
