Job Details

My law firm client is internationally recognised as having one of the premier offshore finance practices. It has the largest Asian Finance presence of any offshore law firm, and is looking to further expand its Finance team in Singapore.

The team covers an extremely diverse spectrum of British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands finance law related issues but has a particular need for a candidate with a strong background in some or all of leveraged and acquisition finance, asset finance, fund finance and structured lending.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to an ambitious and hardworking associate to join an established market-leading team with an excellent reputation. Excellent training, experience and career prospects in a truly meritocratic environment.

Candidate will have in the region of 4-7 years post qualification experience in general banking in a leading onshore or offshore firm. Exceptional candidates with more years of post-qualification experience will be considered also. Ideally you will be England and Wales and/or BVI admitted. Solid legal knowledge of financing and security documentation, structures and law, ideally obtained from training and deal experience at a leading international law firm and a willingness to participate in business development activities.

Experience of working in Singapore with a good network of existing contacts would be an advantage but this is not essential.

Company

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
