Job Details
My client is a boutique Legal 100 law firm based in London, that are looking to develop their IP commercial team further. The IP team have their main focus in the IT sector, with clients ranging from well-known multinationals and FTSE 100 businesses through to SMEs. You will have the opportunity to work with the firms top clients and given some great exposure to cases the firm is working on.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a an NQ or Junior solicitor to join a well established IP team. My client is offering a role that comes with support and massive room for growth and development.
Key responsibilities:
- Advising on potential disputes and evidence gathering
- Drafting and sending cease letters to infringers
- Defending clients who are receiving end of threats of infringement proceedings
- Preparing and issuing Court proceedings in the High Court, including where necessary seeking urgent interim relief
- Assisting clients with domain name disputes and filing administrative proceedings
- Advising on trade mark prosecution matters and conducting (and defending) opposition and cancellation proceedings in the UK and EU
- Advising clients on dispute avoidance in the field of IP
- Acting in other commercial disputes cases involving, in particular, contractual claims, breaches of confidence and judicial review
- A strong academic background including a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent
- Post – qualification exposure to IP litigation would be an advantage, but is not essential
- Independently motivated, a self-starter but enjoys working in a small team of like-minded individuals
- The right to work in the UK
