We are seeking a Procurement Lawyer to join our Commercial Legal Team to provide advice on public procurement, contract law. 

The role includes drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and public sector agreements for works, services and supplies including the governance arrangements to support decisions. You will provide advice to a range of internal and external clients, including the Council’s trading companies, and other public bodies.

We can provide you with varied and exciting work in a dynamic business environment.

About You

You will provide legal expertise contributing to the delivery of high quality, solution focused legal work, to clients in both Newham and Havering.

You will be able to:

•           Proactively manage a sizeable caseload.

•           Analyse and evaluate large amounts of evidence and provide sound comprehensive but digestible advice to clients

You will have excellent legal research skills including using online resources and have the ability to apply this to practical situations. Possessing good oral and written communication skills you will be adept at drafting agreements in a variety of forms  and other formal legal documentation,

In addition you will possess commercial awareness and understanding of client needs alongside excellent client care skills.
