Risk Manager - Legal (6 month FTC)

Leeds

QED Legal are working with a well-established Yorkshire full service commercial law firm in Leeds city centre who are looking for a Risk Manager on a 6-month fixed term contract position.

You will be covering a period of Maternity leave and should have good experience of working in a similar role at a private practice law firm.

As Risk manager you will be working closely with Partners, Heads of Department, COLP, COFA and Money Laundering Reporting Officer to advise and manage on risk issues potentially affecting the business,

The role will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage/Handle Complaints about the Firm or Individuals
  • Maintaining relationships with the Firms PI Insurance inc brokers, insurers and appointed Solicitors
  • Handle complaints made to the Legal Ombudsman
  • Record and Analyse information relating to potential risk issues
  • Develop, Maintain, and promote best practice in relation to regulation and risk
  • Draft and Notify NCA reports on behalf of the MLRO
  • Keep the risk register updated

You should have at 2 years' solid experience in a similar position at a regulated Law Firm in England and Wales and be able to slip seamlessly into the role so that you are ready from day one.
