Head of Department - Residential Property department

Central Oxford

Chance for experienced residential property solicitor to make the step up to a senior/managerial position.

It is envisaged the successful candidate for this position will be a solicitor, legal executive or licensed conveyancer with a minimum of 5 years PQE. You will be expected to oversee the running and development of a current team of 4 conveyancers dealing with residential property matters. You will be expected to have experience in a broad range of residential conveyancing matters including sales and purchases as well as leases, overage agreements, conditional contracts and easements. Due to the location and their reputation that they have for themselves they regularly trusted to act with regards to high value transactions throughout Oxfordshire and further afield and so experience of dealing in high value transactions would be desirable.

The department is thriving at the moment due to their excellent reputation for property work. The firm takes pride in their personal and individual service that they offer to their clients and take a quality over quantity approach to the way in which they run things. Therefore this role would suit someone with a confident and professional client facing style who enjoy the personal side of conveyancing and has the ability to be able to build up lasting relationships with clients and work providers.

The firm sees this as a key strategic appointment for them and so the successful candidate would become an integral part of the team right from day 1 and with the full support of the partners would be responsible for spearheading the continued development of the property team. You will therefore be expected to get involved with the marketing side of things in order to help maintain and build lasting relationships to ensure the future success of the department.

This role may be of interest to those looking for a lateral move with experience of managing a team or alternatively an experienced solicitor looking to make the step up to a senior position but perhaps are not forseeing getting such opportunities at their current firm.
