We are looking for a candidate who has knowledge and experience of complex housing disrepair matters, who is able to lead and manage a team of lawyers and legal officers to work collaboratively with colleagues in our Housing Service to develop and deliver effective and efficient claims management.

The successful candidate will be a Solicitor; Barrister or FCILEx or will hold an equivalent legal qualification. All candidates must demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of housing disrepair litigation in addition to excellent interpersonal skills. An ability to provide strategic leadership to the team, to collate and maintain performance data, and to hold a personal caseload of complex matters will be essential. An ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines, work flexibly to find pragmatic solutions and a willingness to develop new areas of expertise will also be required.

All roles offer the opportunity for flexible working and generous annual leave entitlement (up to 28 days, excluding bank holidays, rising to 33 days after 5 years’ service). Leeds City Council is a member of the West Yorkshire Pension Fund.
