We have an incredible opportunity to work alongside a fantastic General Counsel Solicitor whose remit is EMEA & Lat Am. This Client of ours, an esteemed Investment Funds organisation based in London's bustling Centre, is looking for an academically strong solicitor with 3+ years PQE to join with the General Counsel (specialising in EMEA & Lat Am funds). You will form part of a two person team working alongside a Vice President/General Counsel Solicitor who has vast experience working in Investment Funds.

To excel in this position a solid understanding of fund structures and fund terms will be essential; the role will include drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide range of legal documentation focusing on, but not limited to, distribution agreements, IMAs, rebate agreements, confidentiality agreements, side-letters, ISDAs, broker terms and conditions, and market data services.

Further duties will include the on-boarding of new ISDA relationships, assisting the sales team with the on-boarding of new clients, assisting compliance (including update and review of disclaimers), assisting with compliance training. You will be required to advise on: new legislation and regulations in specific jurisdictions, product development and management in relation to new funds, cross border promotion of fund products (including private placement rules etc.)

You will bring to the table a very strong technical knowledge of fund structures: UCITS, SICAV, Master-Feeder, US Mutual funds etc. equal proficiency in fund domiciles: Ireland, lux, Cayman, US etc. a firm grasp of segregated accounts is also very important. You must have a keen eye on legislative changes to EMIR, OTC UCITS V, MiFID II, SMR. Strong negotiation skills will be important, especially in ISDA agreements, clearing agreements and broker terms and conditions.

In addition to the above, fantastic interpersonal skills and self confidence will be called upon in your frequent engagement with various internal and external stakeholders, counsel, and directors. Along with your winning personality and brilliant academics a fantastic technical legal knowledge of funds and finance will be essential for you to be successful.
