Job Details

I am working with a well known national firm that are looking to recruit in to their Real Estate Department.

They are looking to recruit a knowledgeable conveyancer who can handle your own case load across a wide array of transactions acting for commercial clients in the supported living sector.


The Role
* To specifically provide support to one solicitor within a busy team assisting with all aspects of acquisitions and disposals of properties to be used for supported living, acting for a key client of the firm
* Assisting on plot conveyancing and residential acquisitions for other specific key clients
* Providing advice on time and to a high standard of technical competence in a broad range of supported living property and general residential property matters
* Running their own caseload with supervision
* Achieving budgeted hours and fees for the year as a minimum
* Dealing with clients in person and on the telephone
* Preparation of transaction documentation e.g. contracts, transfers and completion
statements Land Registry and stamp duty land tax documentation
* Carrying out title due diligence and resolving defects in title
* Preparation of legal correspondence
* Inputting data and management of reports for client
* Supporting the team in delivering the core principles of investors in clients to deliver
exceptional client service
* Undertaking other work as required commensurate with the level of appointment.

Knowledge
* Good legal drafting skills: able to provide clear, concise and commercially relevant
solutions, explaining/advising clients succinctly on difficult and complex areas whilst
winning their confidence and being aware of potential conflicts
* Residential conveyancing experience and record of managing own caseload with supervision
is essential
* Good knowledge of residential landlord and tenant law
* Keen to maintain personal development and take advantage of training opportunities;
keeping up to date with legal issues, law reports and journals together with legal
developments and government policy within relevant sectors
* Strong IT and keyboard skills, at ease with digital dictation, electronic time recording
and document management systems, confident with Excel at a basic to intermediate level
including the ability to write simple formulas and using cell formatting
* An effective communicator and negotiator able to establish and maintain harmonious and
professional relationships with clients and colleagues

You Must Be….
As a residential conveyancer, you would be expected to have the following skills and experience:
* A team player with high levels of personal commitment and initiative, recording time
promptly to meet financial goals with a good track record in achieving targets i.e.
expected to achieve over six hours chargeable time each day
* Excellent organisational skills and able to manage own time effectively.
* A proactive, professional and flexible approach to work
* Ability to work on own initiative, and seek supervision as needed.
* Attention to detail tempered by a commercial and common sense approach
* Contributes to a positive team spirit with a "can do" attitude
* Keen to develop over a period of time with a willingness and ability to learn.
