Principal Lawyer - Team Leader for Children and Adults Team Grade

Permanent.
Salary: up to £65,000
We are looking for a lawyer with extensive experience in child care law, together with experience in one or more other areas of law covered by the team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of acting as a successful advocate on contested matters in the county and magistrates courts. We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with strong management and local government experience to lead our Children’s and Adults Team. You will be responsible for managing a team of lawyers dealing with childcare, adoption, education law, mental health, community care, judicial reviews, coroners inquiries and inquest. You will be required to deputise for the Head of Legal Services, assist in managing Legal Service as a whole and implement service changes as directed. The ideal candidate will have experience in advising on data protection, Freedom of information and governance issues. We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic and driven lawyer who is able to build and sustain good client relationships and work effectively with the judiciary. You will need to manage a significant case load as well as carry out management responsibilities.
