Many of us moved from private practice in order to be part of a service which means more to our communities. We enable the County Council to make positive changes and deliver more for residents across the county.

Already one of the largest local authority legal teams in the country, we are responding to increasing demand by creating new opportunities within our Children’s Safeguarding Team. We play a critical role providing the County Council the legal advice and support that it needs in order to fulfill its duty to protect at risk children. With an enhanced understanding of the Children Act 1989 and the Adoption and Children Act 2002, together with experience of advising on the interpretation of legislation, you will share our deepest commitment to the welfare of children and their families.

Dealing with a wide range of issues in a hands-on way, you can be the professional you trained to be - and become a true expert. The work is varied, important, and fundamental to the County Council’s corporate priorities, so you will need to be highly resilient and motivated. You will be supported by a strong team with a genuine sense of community.

In return for helping Hampshire County Council to do the right things in the right ways, you will have the advantage of excellent benefi ts including pension and flexible working options.
