Costs Draftsperson - Very Stable Client Base & Superb Culture

A market leading national commercial practice is eager to appoint an additional Costs Draftsperson to its expanding specialist Costs Team which is located at the firms' flagship office in the heart of Birmingham city centre.

This full-service practice has an envied reputation as a specialist commercial firm and acts for a number of high-profile clients across a variety of sectors covering real estate, commercial services, technology, corporate finance in addition to having a very large dispute resolution offering.

The practices' Costs Team sits within the firms' wider Dispute Resolution Division and deals with all costs matters emanating from litigated and pre-litigated actions covering a broad mix of disciplines such as personal injury, clinical negligence, property litigation, professional negligence and commercial litigation cases. Caseloads comprise relatively straight forward costs matters right through to technically complex actions where matters have values into the multi-million pound level on cases that sometimes attract public attention.

The Costs Team is keen on speaking to costs draftspersons who have a minimum of 12 months' experience of working within the costs sector and who are proficient in dealing with costs on behalf of either claimants or defendants and this experience will ideally emanate from the personal injury, clinical negligence or industrial disease sectors. You will have experience of drafting Bills of Costs, Notices of Commencement, Points of Dispute and Replies to Points of Dispute and you will also have experience of dealing with costs budgeting and Precedent Form H. Any advocacy experience at Costs Hearings would be advantageous but is by no means essential. Strong negotiating skills are a requirement and you will have a demonstrable track record of achieving both costs savings and favourable recoveries throughout your career to date.

If you have not yet had the benefit of gaining experience in all of the aforementioned areas, you are still encouraged to apply as the firm will provide significant training in all costs areas to enhance your professional skills. As well as continuous training and development, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits package which includes a substantial holiday allowance of 27 days with the option to carry some entitlement over. In addition, you will have access to one of the best benefits packages on the market which includes a popular agile working policy as well as private healthcare, medical insurance and also access to a lucrative bonus scheme.

This is an ideal opportunity for those who are looking to forge a career in the costs arena, which is an area that continues to experience considerable growth, so there will be an abundance of opportunities for progression and development to enable you to enhance your career at a firm that is proud to boast significant stability given that it acts for both internal and external clients so for more information on this Costs Draftsperson opportunity please contact Matt Robinson at QED Legal.
