Job Details

New vacancy has arisen within a busy law firm. You will provide comprehensive, efficient and effective HR admin support to the HR Manager, based in the Northallerton office. The firm have 12 offices across Yorkshire and the North East. The role is full time but could be accommodated on a part time basis (minimum 4 days per week).  This would suit someone currently studying towards their CIPD.

Duties to include:

  • Assisting with recruitment, including liaising with the appropriate Fee Earner/Head of Department, preparing job specs, assisting with job-ad posting, liaising with recruitment agencies, processing CVs, arranging interviews, preparing  offer letters and contracts and  new starter on-boarding and associated paperwork,
  • Maintaining and updating HR databases and software to reflect new starters/leavers,
  • Maintaining records on staff holidays, sickness and absence,
  • Producing documentation in relation to updated HR policies and procedures,
  • Ensuring all personnel records are kept up to date,
  • Assisting payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules),
  • Participating in HR projects,
  • Ensuring individual training records are kept up to date,
  • Updating the Office Manual/website,
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures,
  • Diary management.

You will need:

  • A minimum of 12 months experience as an HR Assistant,
  • Good admin experience,
  • Experience of working in a law firm or professional services environment ideally,
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload.
  • To be IT literate with good knowledge of Excel spreadsheets. Experience of using HR software would be advantageous,
  • To demonstrate high integrity and reliability as will be handling highly confidential and sensitive data,
  • High levels of organisation,
  • Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Salary – negotiable depending on experience. Benefits include; 25 days hols + statutory, company pension.
