Financial Controller/COFA - Law Firm

Leeds

I am working with a medium sized Yorkshire law firm who are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the Leeds city centre office.

The right candidate will be an experienced Financial Controller and be familiar with a traditional law firm setup.

The role is senior level and you will be responsible for the complete financial running of the business working closely with 3 Equity Partners and reporting to them.

You will manage a small team of legal cashiers and credit controllers and should therefore have previous management experience and be able to offer support and guidance to junior team members.

This is a proactive position and someone who enjoys adding value to the business by making suggesting and passing advice on to the management team about how the bottom line can be improved is the preferred candidate. Those simply interested in number crunching and sitting behind a desk would not be right for this particular role.

The firm are currently putting in place a new case management system so this would be a great time to join and help integrate the accounts side of the business into this. A thorough working knowledge of Sage 50 accounts and forecasting is essential.

A strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and SRA compliance is also a necessity.

The firm has around 75 staff and there are plans in place to grow the firm and you would be a key player in shaping the direction of the practice.

Salary and benefits are competitive.

If this sounds like an opportunity for you then please do not hesitate to contact Graham Rawlinson at QED Legal for a confidential chat.

Company

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
