Immigration Solicitor

My client is a multi-service law firm and they are keen to bring on an immigration solicitor who has experience with privately funded immigration matters. The firm handles a large amount of Immigration work through long term relationships.

The ideal candidate for the role of immigration solicitor will have at least three years' experience handling their own varied immigration case load, and must be fully conversant in immigration matters.

We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills, both written and oral, and who are highly organized and are able to work under pressure.You will have strong academics, and will be confident in your ability to handle a range of different types of files with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Immigration Solicitor used to dealing with Corporate and Private funded clients in the following areas of law; Private life applications, European Law, Work & Study in the UK, Family Visits and Settlement, Deportation Appeals, Naturalisation, Public Law and Sponsor Licensing for Businesses

Tasks;

 Manage own caseload of corporate and private clients
 Actively manage and develop client relationships including day to day contact with key clients and preparing a variety of business and personal immigration applications
 Liaise directly with the UKBA
 Completion of forms, letters and applications
 Manage & Supervise junior members of staff
 Research
 Provide advice on complex UK immigration, appeals and litigation issues
 Work with clients on appeals to the Immigration Tribunal against decisions involving such matters as the UK Border Agency refusing to grant a visa extension, permanent residency (indefinite leave to remain), or refusing to issue entry clearance to enter the UK or deporting an individual from the UK
 Ensure immigration knowledge up to date and is familiar with all relevant legislation
 Liaise closely with other fee earners in the team and with clients
