Job Details
We are looking for a Deputy Clerk and a Senior Deputy Clerk to join the SDT’s clerking team.
You will need to be a solicitor or barrister with at least 10 years’ PQE, obtained ideally from either a civil or criminal litigation role in private practice or a similar role in-house.
Deputy Clerk
£65,000 pa + generous benefits
As a legal advisor to the Tribunal you will attend hearings and provide support, advice and guidance on law and procedure, and draft written Orders and Judgments setting out the Tribunal’s decision and findings. You will also have a part to play in case management decisions before cases are heard.
You need to be confident, assertive and credible, and able to absorb, analyse and summarise complex material quickly and accurately. Strong presentation and communication skills are also essential, as is the ability to work well as part of a team.
Senior Deputy Clerk
£75,000 pa + generous benefits
As well as clerking duties, the Senior Deputy Clerk manages the clerking team and acts as deputy to the Clerk to the Tribunal, providing leadership and working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver the organisation’s goals.
You need experience of managing, motivating and supporting diverse groups of people to meet objectives and achieve their potential.
