MEMBER OF THE BOUNDARY COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND - LOCAL GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE

Commencing 1 July 2019: it is desirable for candidates to have a background in a local government, planning or public administration context.

The Boundary Commission for England is an advisory Non-Departmental Public Body funded by the Cabinet Office. The Commission is required to keep the Parliamentary constituencies in England under review.

This is an outstanding opportunity to sit on a high profile commission that plays an important role in shaping electoral boundaries in England. As a member, you will review Parliamentary constituencies and reach reasoned conclusions about recommendations on boundaries.  You must be a strong analytical thinker with excellent evaluation and reasoning skills. With a commitment to work in an independent and politically neutral manner; you will also be required to declare any potential conflict of interest. You should also understand the different tiers of local and central government and the services they provide.

Remuneration is currently £505.50 for a full day; reasonable expenses will also be paid.
