37 hours per week (permanent)
An opportunity has arisen for a self-assured solicitor advocate or barrister with practical experience in the relevant areas of public family law. You will be involved with all aspects of legal work arising from Children’s Social Care with an emphasis on child protection advice and conducting child care cases through both a pre-proceedings process and the court.
In addition to case-holding, the post will involve attending the Family Court to undertake advocacy at all levels (including higher courts) on behalf of the Local Authority; this should include being able to conduct contested hearings, lengthy finding of fact hearings and hearings dealing with complex and difficult issues. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, competent ICT skills, be self-motivated and demonstrate a high level of commitment to this demanding area of law.
