Senior Lawyer – Governance
£43,503 - £50,160
Permanent, Full-time 36 hours per week

The role
This role is to provide complex advice to elected members and senior officers on the governance agreement of the authority. The range of duties will include advising in writing and orally on scrutiny, access to information requests, member conduct and other governance issues.
You’ll be an experienced governance lawyer, with a successful track record and the ability to thrive in a local government environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to digest and analyse complex information is required. These skills will also enable you to relay this information to a varied audience in committee, staff groups or individual managers. You will have experience of dealing with a disparate client group and the needs of your clients will be paramount.
Additional salary details
In addition to the basic salary, the post also attracts a Market Factor allowance at 7.5% and a cash benefit of £2,327 per annum, pro-rata, subject to annual review
