THE ROLE - CONSTRUCTION SOLICITOR (ASSOCIATE/SENIOR ASSOCIATE LEVEL)
 
THE BRIEF - On behalf of Taylor Wessing, G2 Legal is retained to recruit a construction solicitor at associate or senior associate level to work from the new Liverpool office in the heart of the city.
 
You will work from the Liverpool office as part of the wider Construction and Engineering practice which is internationally recognised as a heavyweight player in all aspects of transactional construction as well as in dispute avoidance and resolution.  The strength of the group lies in the depth and breadth of its' full service capability in the domestic and international construction arenas.  With key strengths in real estate development, development finance, energy (including renewables), major projects and infrastructure, contentious construction and engineering disputes.
 
The group comprises currently of 4 partners, 8 associates, 3 trainees and 1 PSL you will be working alongside this sizeable team as a construction solicitor in a role mainly consisting of non-contentious construction work.  You will take full responsibility for your caseload and have the opportunity to engage in business development for the practice.
 
 
The clients truly value the full service offering across real estate including disputes, construction, planning and environmental, corporate structuring, finance and bespoke tax advice.  As such clients' stay loyal to Taylor Wessing, demonstrating the strength and depth of practice and client relationships.
 
 
THE PERSON 
 
We are looking for a construction solicitor with at least 3 years' PQE through to around 8 years' PQE. You will have practiced within a recognised construction team at a leading national or strong regional law firm. 
 
You will have a proven track record in construction work including:

• standard form contracts
• consultant appointments
• bonds guarantees and related interfaces
• forwarded purchases
• forward funding
• agreements for lease and development finance

 
Ideally you will also have experience across:

• engineering contracts
• process and plant
• PPP/PFI and energy

 
With a high level of commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills you will ideally have also supported real estate, banking and corporate teams.
 
This construction solicitor role will allow you to further develop your experience at the top end of construction practice both domestically and internationally and will allow you to develop and build your own client relationships.
