Your new company

Due to an internal service redesign, we are now looking to recruit a locum Criminal Litigation Solicitor / Legal Executive to work in the heart of the city centre on an ongoing basis. Your new role

As a Criminal Litigation Solicitor / Legal Executive, you will be working in the Criminal Team in Birmingham City Council assisting the senior legal team with their day to day duties. This will cover a variety of areas including Prosecutions, environmental health for hygiene, licensing, trading standards and enforcement. There will also be the requirement for housing enforcement relating to multiple occupancy and fraud relating to social housing. This role will involve advocacy work at both Crown and Magistrate Courts representing the council.

What you'll need to succeed

As a qualified Solicitor / Legal Executive, you will have come from a Criminal Litigation background ideally within a local authority setting for either defence or prosecution. Similar public sector organisations would be considered such as the CPS.
