Job Details

Are you a planning solicitor, ideally at Partner level although accomplished senior associates will be considered, and considering your next role in the Edinburgh area?

My client, a leading firm with an excellent track record in planning law throughout the UK is keen to add a solicitor at Partner level to drive this aspect of it's operation forward in Scotland.

A thorough understanding of planning law is of course key as is a demonstrable track record in this area. Whilst a following would be ideal, candidates with a clear vision for how they would build and develop a department of this type would definitely be of interest.

Prior exposure to compulsory purchase law would be beneficial for any applicant as would knowledge of highway law including stopping up and diverting rights of way and experience of brownfield regeneration work.

This is a firm that I, and QED UK-wide, has worked with regularly over the past few years. They are renowned for giving focused support to standout individuals and offering a clear and concise path to partnership for those perhaps stuck at senior associate level elsewhere.

With this being the first role of this type advertised in quite some time, please do not hesitate to contact Neil Campbell at QED Legal via the details provided.

All contact is of course strictly confidential until you make the decision to apply and there is no obligation to progress after initial contact.

Company

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
