About us

We are a well-established shared service with a broad public sector client base and great ambitions for the future. Based in the historic town of Tewkesbury, our business extends across rural north Gloucestershire and the urban centres of Gloucester and Cheltenham.

The newly created jobs on offer stem from a recent management review and will be key to delivering our business objectives of providing modern cost-effective legal services, maximising income opportunities and driving continuous improvement.

About the role

You will have responsibility for leading and managing the planning team (currently three staff) and will provide high-level planning advice to senior officers and members. You will also undertake planning advocacy at public inquiries and take the lead on planning litigation including judicial reviews. Additionally, there will be the opportunity for planning committee attendance as legal officer.

About you

You will be a practising solicitor or barrister or FILEX with advocacy rights. You will be an experienced planning lawyer who is skilled in exploring the intricate details of case law and policy whilst at the same time capable of making robust written and verbal arguments in a clear, confident and effective manner. You will have first class communication, management and leadership skills.

For an informal discussion please contact Sara Freckleton on 01684 272011.
