An international technology and payments organisation in West London, with headquarters in Ireland and over 2,000 people globally. This progressive organisation works with blue-chip market leaders in the finance, technology and other sectors, delivering Managed Business Solutions, Banking Transfers and card payment data processing services. The company has a highly collaborative culture with excellent work-life balance compared to many City based competitors. The small but respected legal function is led by a General Counsel with exceptional knowledge of both the company and the wider sector as a whole.

Your new role
A varied commercial technology reporting to the General Counsel, as part of a team of 4 in London. You will negotiate, draft and review a host of technology agreements, including licensing, software maintenance and outsourcing agreements, as well as joint venture service agreements. You will also be involved in high value contracts negotiations with global banks in a regulated environment. Additionally, you will support the business in its expansion into new jurisdictions, while advising on intellectual property, data protection and ad hoc employment and corporate matters. From a regulated sector perspective, you will advise the business on the effect of relevant payments legislation, anti-money-laundering matters and other ad hoc business critical commercial matters. You will work closely with sales, compliance, HR and payments teams, proactively adding commercial value as an integrated business advisor.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK qualified commercial lawyer with thorough training from a reputable firm, with 2-4 years' PQE (as a guide only). You will have had exposure to technology and commercial contracts, with demonstrable experience of negotiating and drafting agreements, both autonomously and as part of a team. Ideally, you will have had some in-house exposure. Payments specific industry experience is not a pre-requisite, though naturally any such experience would be welcomed. You will be accustomed to building relationships and managing stakeholders at all levels, which will entail occasional travel to Ireland. You will be happy working in a small team, in an office environment more intimate than City offices. Ultimately, you will be keen to progress in an international company that offers good levels of autonomy as part of a lean organisation.
