Education Lawyer

LAW Absolute are currently working with a local authority based in London, seeking an Education (SEND) Lawyer on an interim basis for three months initially.

The successful Education Lawyer will be expected to carry a full caseload from the outset and start on short notice.

Role description:

• You will be required to have a good understanding of the legal framework for identifying, assessing and supporting children and young people with special educational needs,
• An understanding of the duties of a local authority, in respect of Education Health Care Plans,
• Previous experience in the conduct of SEND Tribunals including advocacy,
• An ability to manage a varied and complex caseload

It is essential that you have experience dealing with SEND tribunals and can pick up a caseload with minimal supervision. It would be advantageous if candidates possess previous local authority experience.

Due to the urgent nature of the role, candidates must be available on no more than two weeks’ notice.
