Communities Committee vacancies

Law Society Communities consist of Sections and Divisions.
Our Sections are subscription-based communities, designed to help members implement best practice. Our Divisions are demographic or practice type web based communities offering a range of free membership benefits. See http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/communities/ for further information.

Both Sections and Divisions have a yearly engagement programme including conferences, events and online content focusing on supporting practitioners and encouraging best practice.

The Section / Division committees are groups of enthusiastic individuals who have an interest in the relevant area and advise the Society on how best to support, promote and represent members in the relevant field and help to shape the engagement programmes.
Several Communities’ committees have vacancies - listed below.

To apply for any of these vacancies please email communities@lawsociety.org.uk with your CV and a statement of up to 500 words outlining how you can contribute to developing engagement with the respective Section or Division community, including practical examples, demonstrating an understanding of what you consider to be the important issues.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • a sound knowledge and understanding of the relevant area,
  • an interest in the relevant Section / Division,
  • the experience and drive to deliver training and support,
  • and an ability to represent the ideas and views of practitioners within the relevant area.

The deadline for return of applications is 28 February 2019.

Appointments will be made on merit following an open and transparent process. A selection panel will consider the applications and shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 14 March 2019.
