Admittance to Arbitration Panel

The Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales.

Many companies and individuals prefer to resolve disputes without the assistance of the courts. This can be done by arbitration, mediation or reference to an expert. It is always sensible to provide a means of appointment if agreement on the identity of such persons can be reached.

The Law Society can arrange for the appointment of an Arbitrator, in the name of the President, to deal with a dispute when duly empowered to do. A number of appointments are made each year, in a wide range of cases, which include partnership disputes, commercial agreement, insurance disputes and rent reviews.

The Law Society is recruiting for individuals to be admitted onto the Arbitration Panel. The Arbitration Panel is also used for the appointment of adjudicators, mediators, experts, independent solicitors and administrators of estates. Applicants are required in the application form to specify which role they are applying for.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills and experience outlined in the Criteria and Role Profile.
