Locum Head of Legal & Governance - (£55 - £75 per hour) – West Midlands

Venn Group's specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a Locum Head of Legal and Governance working for a Local Authority in the West Midlands.

The Council are looking for someone to carry out the role for an initial period of 3 months. The contract is likely to be extended depending on permanent recruitment. Whilst this is a full time position, part time and flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.

The client will consider Qualified Solicitors, Barristers, Legal executives or someone qualified by experience as long as they have appropriate experience managing teams within Local Government.

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out various responsibilities including:

• Leading and managing the provision of legal advice and services to the Council
• Developing robust strategies to support the Council's priorities and objective
• Providing logical solutions for the Council to ensure resources are used efficiently and balance principles of good governance
• Advising and liaising with Senior Officers and Members
• Providing conduct, constitutional and administrative advice
• Responsible for promoting the Council's Governance and Legal Services
• Thinking commercially to reduce dependence on Government funding

A highly attractive rate of £55 - £75 per hour, dependant upon experience is offered.
