Job Details

Construction Solicitor

This is a unique opportunity to join a firm which enjoys a very different business structure to a conventional law firm. It is known for its innovative approach and has more of an 'inhouse feel' than that of private practice, whilst delivering a first class, business style service to its list of household name clients.

This firm rarely takes people on without a client following, however the amount of work currently enjoyed by their highly Construction Department has necessitated the recruitment of a junior Solicitor to join the team.

You will be working alongside two Partners who have been commended in the Legal 500 for construction law and therefore you will be learning first hand from experts in this field.

Your caseload will comprise both non-contentious and contentious construction law work. Non-contentious construction work will include advising on and preparing building contracts, appointments, collateral warranties, novation agreements and ancillary documents. Contentious matters will include negotiating and settling construction disputes, assisting clients in using alternative dispute resolution, representing clients in adjudication, arbitration and Court proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court.

The role would suit a junior Solicitor who ideally has some construction experience gained either during training or post-qualification, however this is not a pre-requisite as training will be given and you will be offered full support throughout your career. Applications from more qualified Solicitors with relevant experience will also be considered.

A highly competitive remuneration package is on offer, along with the opportunity of working in an enviable location.

Company

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
