ICAEW is a world leader of the accountancy and finance profession.
The Professional Conduct Department (PCD) plays an important regulatory role in the licensing and monitoring of the work of ICAEW members and in helping to maintain the reputation of the profession. PCD comprises a multi-disciplinary team of accountants and lawyers who assess, investigate and present cases to the Regulatory Committees, the Investigation Committee and the Disciplinary Tribunal.
We are looking to recruit an experienced legal adviser into PCD to provide practical and constructive legal advice to our investigation teams at the start and during investigations. You will manage and contribute to a high volume of cases, moving them to their eventual submission to the investigation committee and disciplinary tribunal. The role could also involve occasional advocacy before the disciplinary tribunal.
Our ideal candidate will:
• be a qualified lawyer with a strong PQE background in either civil or criminal litigation or in working for a professional regulatory body • ideally have advocacy experience • have had experience of managing a large number of cases • be a good team player with the ability to build relationships across PCD and ICAEW as a whole.
In return, we offer the opportunity to work in a truly forward thinking, flexible and international culture with a strong and supportive team spirit.
