Environment Solicitor - 3 years PQE+

Leeds

I am working with an International Law Firm in the centre of Leeds who are looking for an experienced Environment Solicitor (non-contentious) to join their pre-eminent team.

The wider team nationally has 25 lawyers in it - with 4 on the sub team.

The role is entirely non-contentious in its scope and you will be advising a number of businesses on regulatory environmental issues. Most recently the firm has been dealing with a lot of work from the chemicals sector. With Brexit looming lots of the work is advising on the impact of Brexit and what that will mean to business.

There will be some other regulatory matters to deal with (like Health and Safety, Food Safety and Labeling) but in the main the work will be Environmental.

The right lawyer must be academically excellent and enjoy researching and interpreting legislation, no two matters are the same and this is an interesting team to work in, with lots of the work being bespoke in nature. You still should have a commercial eye as you will be advising large businesses on how best to make sure they are working in line with the relevant regulations.

Opportunities to move are few and far between due to the smaller specialist nature of the teams so if you are looking to move please get in touch as soon as possible to be properly considered.

Due to the team not being huge there is definitely the possibility of getting noticed, progressing your career, and becoming a recognised expert in the field.

Salary and overall package is competitive and will be dependent on experience.

If you would like to have a confidential chat about this role please contact Graham Rawlinson at QED Legal for more information.

Company

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
