Data Privacy Manager

We are working in partnership with a Global research Company in their search for a Data Privacy Officer in their New York Office.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing legal advice on the CCPA and other new state data protection laws.
• Review and amend existing agreements with clients and suppliers to comply with CCPA
• Advise on updates and maintenance of company processes and procedures, including due diligence process for vendors/service providers to comply with GDPR and CCPA
• Assist with conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
• Work closely with Compliance and Information Security Teams globally to have a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of data-related requirements in other regions
• Attend relevant Data Protection / Compliance conferences

Skillset required:

• Qualified solicitor
• Experience in Data Protection/Privacy
• Expertise in and track record dealing with US data protection
• Experience in advising on GDPR
• Ability to think and act both strategically with respect to the needs of the business, clients and objectives whilst remaining compliant as well as industry best practice
• A genuine interest in Data Protection / Privacy and keen to stay up to date in changes
• In-house experience
• Good commercial law experience including commercial drafting
• A background in Media advantageous, but not a must
