It is common place for their Solicitors to be called upon by the media such as Sky and the BBC for their opinion, interview and first comment due to their high level of expertise. They have the highest level of expertise for legal aid work and are now one of the largest firms in the country, although they have a growing private arm to the business which already has a reputation for dealing with high-quality work.

Within the last year, the firm has taken on over 30 new members of staff, bringing their total headcount to over 140 staff. The role

The firm is seeking to hire an Actions Against the Police Solicitor to join their City of London office.

You will work as part of a highly ranked legal 500 and chambers ranked department. You will provide advice and representation to a wide range of individuals in relation to Civil Actions against Public Authorities, which includes but not limited to, the Police, Crown Prosecution Service and the Prison Service. Areas may include: wrongful arrest, false imprisonment, human rights, assault by prison staff/police, malicious prosecution and discrimination.

Requirements

• You will be between NQ - 6 years PQE
• You will ideally be a member of the (PALG) Police Actions Lawyer Group, although this is not essential
• You will have a track record in litigation and experience in handling a broad range of public and privately funded Civil Actions against Public Authorities work, and a keen interest in specialising in this interesting area of law.
• You will have excellent communication skills
• Salary is negotiable depending on your level of experience, plus an excellent benefits package and a lucrative bonus structure
